It looks like the FDA is going to be making some changes to the nutrition information on our food packaging. I hope they have some good information designers working on this. Is it too obvious to suggest Deborah Adler?
While they’re at it, would it be so hard to explicitly label products that have meat or animal products in them, like they do for tree nuts or peanuts? Most people don’t realize that many packaged foods contain animal products, but don’t directly say so on the label, often using “natural flavors” or another such euphemism. Most vegetarians know what to avoid, but it doesn’t seem unreasonable to demand that manufacturers reveal all the sources of their the ingredients.
