Jamis complains about his 14-speed blender. While I agree whole-heartedly, there’s a much bigger problem at hand. Blenders just don’t work that well (at least for making smoothies). I want one where I can just through in some fruit, ice, and yogurt and push a button and I’m done. Instead I’m forced to add things in a specific order, a little at a time, and constantly stop and push stuff down. Because they’re tapered, the food always get’s stuck above the blade. I’ve tried multiple blenders (although no super high-end ones) and they all have the same problem.
